VP of Virtual Care Renown Health

Mitchell Fong is the Vice President of Virtual Care at Renown Health, a multi-hospital system that is locally governed and locally owned. Renown is a not-for-profit integrated healthcare network serving northern Nevada, Lake Tahoe and northeast California and was an early adopter of telehealth in 2012. Renown’s vision is to make a genuine difference in the health and well-being of people and communities that they serve. Mitchell has been in healthcare for over 10 years. He studied molecular biology at University of California, San Diego before pursuing a masters degree in public health with a focus in Epidemiology where he became enamored with telehealth while performing research on the need for telehealth in Rural Nevada. Mitchell completed his MPH as well as an Executive MBA at University of Nevada, Reno. As a public health professional, Mitchell has been able to develop population health and virtual care strategic plans for the community and is dedicated to his mission of improving the healthcare of the community, no matter the size or barriers.
