Michelle Willard

As a product manager I embrace the always inspiring opportunity to dig into the mind of the consumer and try to understand what frustrates them and what brings them joy. I mine out these emotions and data to design a build new experiences and bring a change to their lives. I currently do this as a Sr. Manager in Digital Messaging at Capital One. In this role I have led teams to implement Enterprise DMARC protection policies, set deliverability standards, deliver recurring marketing campaigns and contributed to the design and build of our new messaging platform. After leading the broad scale migration of our messages to this platform I now fill the role of product lead for our Email and SMS channels. As a people leader, I work daily to give my team support, guidance, and direction. I listen. I share my experiences. I help them grow in the direction they wish to go. I see their value and do my best to make sure they see it as well. In addition to my day job I am also a beekeeper and have a passion for environmental causes. I am a highly motivated, performance driven, glass half-full type of person. An excellent communicator, I can explain complex technical solutions in a simple way. I am a Lean and Green Belt certified process engineer. I use my process background to deliver results with a high focus on quality and an eye on risk mitigation. I have been recognized as a leader among the company process community and help strengthen the process culture by teaching BPM classes and coaching BPM, Lean and GB candidates through certification.
